I had a conversation with my wife recently on the outright rush to ignore November and Thanksgiving. It’s a shame, because November is when we celebrate the bounty of the harvest and we get a last chance at time in nature before the snow comes. For those of you who are hunters, it’s a season to bring home some venison.
This compilation is video and photos from a few hiking trips I snuck in this November. The music is me, clunky away on the guitar. I aired this last night on Sunday Nights Radio. I think SNR is one of the few live streams will dive into history, and then bring you the beauty of nature along with music. We all need a break from the mad rush of the week and the intrusion of current events. At least I do, so SNR is break for me. If you haven’t caught those, they are up on our OZFest channel.
For those of you who are interested I have my guitar to DADGAD tuning. Standard tuning is EADGBE, while DADGAD is used in Celtic jigs. While you are nearly in an open D tuning, you get a lot rich combinations depending on the key of the music you are playing. But it also means you have to throw all the chords you know out the window, as it’s all different. Except for the middle strings ADG, so any blues triad chords that you play in that range are still applicable. I think it gives the guitar a warmer sound.
