The banner that you see above is from a photo of Hocking Hills, Ohio. Hocking Hills is a series of cliffs, waterfalls and gorges that offer great hiking opportunities. And it was another November camp out we did, and consequently another 5 hour trek on a Friday night to reach the destination. That’s my son’s Scout troop waiting for us Old Crows to catch up on the hike. We had snow later in the evening, so naturally the young bloods used the same strategy of jetting ahead of us and ambushing us dads with snowballs in a narrow gully. The cast iron Dutch oven in the footer banner for this month is also from a photo taken on that same trip. It’s funny how some events just get emblazoned on your mind and resist being crowded out by other things.
I just discovered that they have these cool treehouse cabins down there. We had opted to camp out as we usually did. But I have to say that this cabin looks really cool, there are several there and it’s like a Midwest version of Rivendell.
Travel and discovery with my kids and wife is something that we as a family have always looked forward too. Sometimes Cultural Courage feels like a nostalgic travelogue, but the adventures to new places takes up the important slots of your memories that I like to share. It’s a source of strength. Part of my job as a dad is to get the kids taxing down the runway for their own spectacular solo flights.
OZFest And the Election Post Mortem, Sorta
The Election was November 5th, yet the counting has gone on and on, and here in Michigan we, ahem, had “glitches” and wouldn’t you know, more opportunities to count even on Friday, November 8th at 4 PM. I’ve expressed before that while I was surprised at the outcome, there have been no answers regarding the signs of election fraud in the weeks prior to the election, and those questions still linger. Voting is the fundamental activity that me must perform, it is a short term contract that yields restricted power to our representatives who act on our behalf in a very narrow scope for a limited time. They are servants, not “officials”.
The last OZFest Morning Mission laid out what is yet to be investigated, and no matter your party affiliations, nor level of interest in politics, it’s important that we have free and fare elections. The casino style where the house always wins is not part of the deal I want to pass on to my kids. I am fairly certain that OZFest will return to this topic, yet my hope is that that one day it is no longer necessary.
You can find that analysis here:
OZFest Next Week
AI is back on the radar for OZFest, we haven’t touched on the topic in quite a while. As I’ve said lately, the Election sucks the air out of the room. While the nominee list for the DoJ, FBI and others are of interest it’s time to look at other very important things that will be affecting us. I have said many times that SkyNet is not waking up and sending murderous nanites to kill us, yet I find the hype behind Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) to be interesting. This past summer it was the ultimate level of achievement to create AGI, but wouldn’t you know, just like Spinal Tap where Nigel Tufnell used an amp that went to 11, there is Artificial Super General Intelligence (AsGI) that is really going be the next 11.
We have talked about AI extensively in our documentary Severed Conscience and I find it fascinating that some of the latest revelations are not much different than those of 9-12 months ago. I also suspect that there are schemes like the Nigerian prince who needs a check, but instead you can send a bitcoin. Marc Andreesen had an interesting revelation that we’ll dive into. Don’t get me wrong, there are some really cool things that AI is doing with video and animation, but that is different than turning the creation of the latest vaccines or gene therapy over to the wisdom of the sentient AGI.
Look for this on the customary day and time for OZFest Morning Mission. That’s Tuesday 830 AM eastern at https://rumble.com/ozfest/live.
A Few Things That Blew Me Away
Speaking of Severed Conscience, I saw somethings in that vein of social media and AI that blew me away. For one, I saw a music video today that sums up Severed Conscience in about 4 minutes. It’s quite something to see music and video so good that expresses the essence of what I thought was at the heart of Severed Conscience.
released a song and accompanying video today called Algorithm Ghetto. It’s amazing. I discovered it via , who has #FreedomMusicFriday on his Substack. Check them both out.The other thing caught my attention in of a “outta left way” was when
pointed out that JD Vance’s family is now protected by robot dogs from Boston Dynamics. When I gaze at the photo below I hear the theme song from Battle Star Galactica (2004). I know I just said that SkyNet isn’t awakening but that is a chilling image, and I can see those prancing down the street with a speaker telling people to remain in their homes while the authorities pass through. They did that in China in response to a resurgence of Covid, and I am not a fan of the phrase “it will never happen here”.If you are looking for great story telling, check out the Pyramids of Set series on The Bone Writers Substack.
Sunday Nights Radio
Sunday Nights Radio will return this weekend with the title Kentucky 98. The focus will be the Founding Fathers struggle with their own Constitution, and their remedies were different than what we are accustomed to today. We have to balance out all the AI discussion with the Founding Fathers and the pursuit of liberty.
That will be Sunday 930 PM Eastern on the the OZFest Rumble channel.
Friday is Podcast Release Day
Episode 79 of the Severed Conscience Podcast is now available. It’s amazing to me that renewable energy has to be ushered in with lawfare. Michigan is specifically targeted as the new Mecca for 4th Industrial Revolution manufacturing. But at what cost?
Audio is up on Apple Podcast, Spreaker and Spotify.
