Short Week Kicking Off September
This Week On CC
Today the Tech Gods are against me, I swear that after decades of dealing with computers, networks, writing software you’d think that I would not bat an eye when things go awry. Confession time: I have to walk away and restrain an urge to throw my chair.
We all have those times when we feel like we have seen the movie before, and we know how it’s going to go, and not without pain. Tech support was the last resort for getting into our graphics software, that was a valley of frustration in of itself because, well, they didn’t like just I had figured. I finally got things up and running, only to catch my foot on the power strip and yank it out of the wall.
What month is it again, September? Next week Friday is the 13th but I think I just lived through it early.
Yet, yet … the September edition of Cultural Courage is here, a bit late with the short week and home projects I have to get done while the weather is good. You won’t blame me, I hope, for taking advantage of 70 F and no clouds in the sky. The header photo this week is from a lake nearby, the days have been as lovely as the photo depicts.
The first article this week was a serious one. Censorship is one everyone’s minds, but it struck me that there is a larger trend to consume everyone’s attention to the point where venturing off to discover new sources, ideas and writing is being severely curtailed. By now most of you may know that we completed a documentary on the topic of social media, and when I started this last article I hadn’t intended to dovetail some of those topics with the article’s theme.
Coming Up On Sunday Nights Radio
Coming up on Sunday Nights Radio I have a mix of ideas that I hope are to you’re like. My son shared some interesting stories and photos from his nighttime gig. It got me thinking on a couple different avenues regarding summer time jobs that can shape your outlook. And I ran across a historical figure who describes how his first jobs shaped his success too. Throw in some tales from the 1920s Detroit River and I think this will be an interesting Smorgasbord for Sunday Night.
I’m dropping a hint here: have you ever heard of Mrs. Ruffner?
Sunday Nights Radio is LIVE 930 PM Eastern. Something different for a relaxing Sunday evening.
OZFest Morning Mission
It may strike you as odd that with Cultural Courage focusing on history, getting offline and reclaiming your time from social media, AI would not be a prevalent topic during the week. OZFest Morning Mission has pushed the envelope with our thinking, and Artificial Intelligence is a subject that is in the cross hairs for the very reason that it is used to effect change and erode our liberty. Those are becoming more apparent as we see eminent domain being invoked in order to claim land for energy projects required for large data centers.
You can find this Imminent Domain, Imminent AI on our Rumble channel.
Friday Severed Conscience Podcast Release
This week’s podcast release of Severed Conscience combines politics with our documentary.
We featured Orlando Gutierrez-Boronat, author of the book CUBA: The Doctrine of The Lie in the opener of the episode History of Manipulation. There he describes that many are willing to give up their freedom in exchange for the power to ruin someone else’s life.
In Michigan, the secretary of state is asking citizens to report election misinformation. This potential surveillance by neighbors harkens Orlando’s words that people will be willing to give up their freedom in exchange for power over someone else’s destiny. It is chilling to hear a state official issue statements that there is training, registration and databases that will track what people say on social media and elsewhere regarding our elections. This week's podcast is very poignant.
You can find our podcast on Apple, Spotify and Spreaker. Many times the ideas we present here as articles find their genesis in our preparations or discussions on our podcasts.
