What's Happening Sunday and Podcast Release
Normally I on Fridays I sum what has transpired during the week and provide the latest podcast update, but since I was eager to launch the final article for our June edition, I delayed announcements to this evening. We certainly don’t want to bombard you in box, and please feel free to tell us if you need more or less communication.
Lastest installment:
More June Articles
The Risk of Sharenting is now available, it is part of our “kids are home from college and school” theme for June. We have fallen into some habits that have a greater affect than we might be aware of with respects to our social media and online time. Many studies have indicated that teen girls are at risk emotionally from overuse of their phones. But what do our kids feel about us sharing details about all their milestones in the form of pics, videos and posts? Sure, we all take pride and want to share, but is there a point of too much sharing at the cost of our kids welfare?
It is summer, and I’ve been lucky enough to get in two kayaking outtings with my son and daughter so far. As you get to know my co-host Orange and I, you’ll come to know our love of the outdoors, we feel it restores those qualities that we need to keep strong. I have a kayaking adventure that you may be interested in, there is accompanying video of my spur of the moment excursion to explore a region of Otsego Lake that I’ve had my sights since I was 10.
Founders History
Orange and I have several goals with Cultural Courage, and one of our primary goals is to learn and share history of our Founding Fathers. As we see it, many of the challenges we face today would be not so ominous if we remembered our heritage and understood the strength of our rich traditions. They offer us so much, but we seem to be lost in other endeavors.
If we fully understood the strenghts and the limits that our form of government places on our institutions, we may have very different answers that what our leaders offer us. Orange has a great installment of our Root Cause of Corruption this month.
Sunday Nights Radio Becomes Summer Nights Radio
Tomorrow evening we transition Sunday Nights Radio to Summer Nights Radio. SNR, both titles fit the acronym. I started Summer Nights Radio last year as a way to explore topics such as history, philosophy, music, nostalgia to stretch my story telling skills. And as a change a pace for OZFest listeners - we need to break from politics. Orange thought Sunday was a good night to chill out with those topics, and it being summer, Van Halen springs to mind with Sammy singing Summer Nights.
I have a challenge for you, a two part quiz and it is a hint for the content of Summer Nights Radio tomorrow. For one, what is M-22? And who is George? I’ll give you a hint: a few hundred years ago he was going to receive a letter, one that would change the world. Drop a comment with your guesses.
SNR Live Stream, starting 930 PM Eastern, is here: LIVE Stream: M-22 & A Letter To George
