Closing Out the Week and What's On Deck
July / August Splitsie Week, Our Podcast Release, Some Neat Images For This Month and What's Next on Summer Nights Radio This Sunday
I am famous for telling people “pick a theme song for the project, we’ll need something to hum in the wee hours of the night we need inspiration”. I say that not because this post is coming out late (yeah, it actually is), but because the fun part of planning our monthly articles is when Orange and I review the header graphics. We both have some amazing photos, and I have to say that while it’s easy to fire off some AI tool to craft a graphic, the best visuals are the ones that caught our eye on various outings with our families. The one above is what won out, I’m going to keep you guessing about what the theme for the month will be. Orange is crafting something that has some neat history to it, and the theme will carry over to our other concepts.
The lighthouse above is in Frankfort Michigan, and it sits on Lake Michigan and the the interior lake Betsie. There are so many in Michigan it’s easy to get confused and you find yourself in the “is that the one in Ludington?” contest.
Here are some of the runners up, some vivid imagery for a Friday evening.
Above is Council Rock at the base of the Susquehanna River that is fed by Otsego Lake.
Michigan farm just after sunrise.
Fungus I photographed on the shores of Otsego Lake, NY. I was still in the kayak when I snapped that.
The Institute Of Society - Final July 2024 Article
In fall of 2022 Orange presented me a concept for a documentary which became Rationed State. There are many concepts there that we continue to develop, and Orange’s article The Institute of Society is a primer. The graphic is a fuel ration card used during WW2, and when you read about the Institute of Society and it’s founder you’ll see how the concept of rationing is quietly promoted in many ways today that we may not readily recognize.
M-22 Adventures
In Michigan we have a very popular road that winds up our west coast. Given that summer is the time when you can be out on adventures with your family, I wrote about my family’s first outing. The lighthouse you see in the graphic below is the same one that we used for our August edition. At night it looks very mysterious. My daughter and I ventured out that night, it was sort of a “hey lets go for it” thing.
Friday Podcast Release
Fridays we release our Severed Conscience podcast, and the episodes reflect our analysis of trends that we see in Social Media, AI, Land Grab, and the lose of liberty for the sake of constructing a safely controlled environment. This week is a techie one were we review a concept called Dematerialization. Yes, it sounds like a Star Trek concept, but it is actually a term used to describe how in the future, producing goods using Artificial Intelligence will cost nothing. If you’re skeptical, don’t worry, I am as well.
You can find our podcast on Apple, Spotify and Spreaker. If you subscribe you can download those with your preferred podcast player app automatically.
What’s Next on Summer Nights Radio This Sunday 930 PM EDT?
Summer Nights Radio is my attempt at focusing on anything but politics, I am an old school AM radio listener, George Noori and Art Bell had some interesting stuff. While SNR is not about UFOs, it is about exploring new ideas and concepts found in music, nostalgia, local legends, history and speculation.
As a young dude, I was driving late one night at my home in the Catskills, and trust me, you could only get AM in the car. I heard a riff from one of my favorite songs, but it wasn’t from the group that was known for the song. In fact it was from a Big Band Era orchestra! I told my garage bandmate, it sparked some really cool conversations.
Is technology turning us away from those types conversations? Trivia is not the important, it is the discovery and the ideas sparked by that discovery that’s important. I’ll be covering ever present tech, I’ll reveal what song inspired on the late night drive, and we’ll have fun listening to some music along the way.
Did You Know We Live Stream Tuesdays 830 AM Eastern?
Orange and I first started collaborating with OZFest (Orange and Zee Fest) where we focus on issues relevant to Michigan, and political developments that will potentially impact you in your state. This last Tuesday OZFest covered EGLE, yet another state agency in Michigan which has been granted the power to declare an emergency. While we are live at 830 AM, you can catch the replay on our Rumble channel.
Here is our latest episode:
