We must make laws, rules, prevent monopolies and control the AI before it controls us. Remember the Star Trek episode where the machine was looking for the sound of whales, if we lose our ability to free think, to know the history of earth 300 years before that episode, to go into the analogs and retrieve that, Voyager would have consumed USS 1701 …. Perhaps we need to make our archives now so AI does not get to choose them for us.

Jefferson and Adam’s had a falling out over the direction of the country, several letters of J were made public which started the war, but Adam’s went too far with the Sedition Act calling out all the potions that were protected. And Veep - which J was at the time - was conspicuously absent. So j could have end imprisoned if he voiced opposition. That’s why he helped draft the Kentucky and Virginia resolutions that invoked the 10A.
Right, see I think we have elevated the wrong founding father. Jefferson was always played as a slave owner, and he was, as were others. All the inventions, or many, Ben Franklin was given credit for, I like the exposure you are giving Jefferson. Clearly very long overdue
It’s amazing The Monticello org presents Jefferson’s inventions as a way of keeping the slaves out of sight. Yet Jefferson’s main server in the dining room was black and a slave, so the cat was out of the bag re slaves existing at his planation. Plus I have a hard time thinking that he would have gone to such an extent to create a wide corridor, underground, from the kitchen to the main house and install the dumb waiters if he didn’t want to make the work easier. Would you go to that extent for slaves? I’m not sure, seems like a lot of effort.
