Legends of the Great Lakes And How the Founders Were At Odds Days Before the Declaration of Independence

We are approaching our 249th birthday as a nation. Sometimes we think of the Founding Fathers as these august statesmen, but in reality things were very cantankerous in the days leading up the Jefferson presenting the Declaration of Independence to the Continental Congress. In this episode of Sunday Nights Radio we retrace the Path to Declaration.

On a Sunday night, I think it’s a good exercise to set aside politics and in the dark house learn about the mysteries and legends we tend to ignore during the fray of the week. The Great Lakes is rife with legends of serpents and other leviathan lurking in the blue fresh waters that surround Michigan. Mackinac Island even had a sighting of a great serpent. It seems the legends of the First Nation transmitted to the early settlers and inhabitants of Great Lakes states. In fact we’ll look at a video from 2019 that is really odd.
